Production Manager – Assembly Location: Urbana, OH

Primary Activities / Duties

Lead and oversee operational leadership including Supervisors and Team Leaders for assigned areas.

Apply the annual performance review process for direct reports.

Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery reliability, and team morale across all shifts.

Manage staffing levels and maintain approved rosters.

Identify and develop future leaders through coaching, feedback, and training.

Establish and maintain 6S workplace standards to ensure a visitor‑ready environment.

Collaborate cross‑functionally to pursue “Total Rittal” solutions for operational challenges.

Coach teams to improve material flow and operational efficiency.

Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize work area layout and eliminate waste.

Represent operations in planning discussions and improvement initiatives.

Promote and teach principles of “World Class” manufacturing through Rittal Production System (RPS) teams.

Demonstrate effective project management and act as a role model for continuous learning.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Associate degree in Process or Manufacturing Engineering required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Minimum 6 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership environment.

Prior leadership experience required.

Solid understanding of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.

Proven ability to lead remote teams across geographic locations.

Experience managing project scope, cost, schedules, and vendor relationships.

Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Experience in electronic or industrial manufacturing preferred.

Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
