Company Overview
Louisiana Bridge Builders (LBB) is designing and building the new I‑10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also oversee the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5‑mile stretch between I‑210 West End and Ryan Street.
Position Purpose / Summary The Bridge Manager is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by overseeing and coordinating all aspects of bridge construction, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards.
Location This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals.
Prepare and monitor project schedules to meet deadlines and resolve any delays or issues that arise.
Create and manage budgets, ensuring projects are completed within the financial scope.
Monitor expenditures, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and handle procurement of materials and equipment.
Approve invoices and ensure financial transactions are in compliance with the project budget.
Maintain accurate records of project progress, budget expenditures, safety incidents, and quality inspections.
Prepare and submit detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
Ensure proper documentation for regulatory approvals and inspections.
Enforce safety protocols and ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Hire, motivate, and lead a high‑performing team through coaching, recruiting, and talent retention.
Supervise team with training, performance reviews, and personnel decisions.
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications At a minimum, the Bridge Manager must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field along with 5+ years of experience in bridge construction or civil engineering projects. A high school diploma is acceptable if accompanied by 9+ years of relevant experience. The candidate must have at least 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within civil construction and a current, valid driver’s license.
