Position Overview I am partnering with a great client that is seeking an experienced
Maintenance Manager
to lead our maintenance team and ensure reliable, high-performing bakery operations. This is a strategic role for a proactive leader with hands‑on technical expertise, strong organizational skills, and a track record of managing preventive maintenance programs in food manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
The ideal candidate will combine leadership with technical proficiency to maximize equipment uptime, minimize production interruptions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Bilingual in Spanish and English is highly preferred , to effectively communicate with a diverse team and coordinate across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Hands‑on leader, coach, and develop the maintenance team across equipment reliability, facilities maintenance, systems/controls, planning, inventory, and plant engineering.
Flexibility in schedule to meet the demands of a fast‑paced, 24‑hour plant facility.
Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for all bakery equipment.
Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, PLC and robotics a plus.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, operations, and quality teams to minimize downtime.
Manage vendor relationships, parts procurement, and maintenance budgets.
Maintain compliance with safety standards, food regulations, FDA, (GMP, SQF), and company policies.
Communicate quality and food safety concerns per SQF/BRC guidelines.
Track and analyze equipment performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide clear and timely reporting on maintenance activities and KPIs to plant leadership.
Champion a “Safety First, Safety Always” culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA, hazardous materials, and all health and safety regulations.
Use CMMS to analyze data, generate reports, and improve KPIs; communicate trends and recommendations to stakeholders.
Contribute to departmental budgeting, capital project planning, and cost management.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.
5 years of maintenance leadership experience in a food manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems; PLC and robotics experience is a plus.
Demonstrated success managing preventive maintenance programs and leading maintenance teams.
Exceptional problem‑solving, organizational, and project management skills.
Strong understanding of safety, regulatory compliance, and food manufacturing best practices.
