The Quality Control Inspector ensures all maintenance work, including documentation, is performed in an airworthy manner and in compliance with approved technical data. This position is also responsible for preliminary, routine and in-process inspections on aircraft and components to determine serviceability and airworthiness. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Performs incoming preliminary inspections on aircraft or components in accordance with customer request cards or manufacturer's manuals. Ensures documentation of maintenance performed is completed as required by FAR's, ATS' Repair Station Manual and customer's Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP). Completes final buy-back of maintenance performed. Performs in-progress inspections including clearance-to-close, torque verifications, dimensional checks and rigs. Performs return-to-service and airworthiness releases on serviceable tags, aircraft logbooks, and FAA form 337 as authorized by ATS and airlines. Performs audit of ATS facilities for FAR and safety regulation compliance. Performs other duties as assigned. Education And Experience Airframe Services Minimum of three (3) years heavy aircraft maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by Manager’s discretion. F.A.A. Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required. NDI and previous QC experience preferred. Prior leadership experience preferred. Ability to learn airline customer RII requirements. Familiar with inspection tools, aids and devices used in determining tolerances, specifications, and progress. Physical Effort And Dexterity While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee will also be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
