Assistant Operations Manager
About the Role The Assistant Operations Manager supports the daily success of our local College HUNKS Hauling Junk and Moving franchise. This role works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure smooth execution of daily operations, team performance, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Operations Support
Assist in implementing and refining operational processes that promote consistency and efficiency.
Conduct Welcome / Confirmation calls to clients and support day-of-service logistics.
Help investigate and resolve damage claims promptly and professionally.
Support the scheduling of crews and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
Input and track daily performance metrics to maintain operational visibility.
Participate in truck and equipment check-in / out procedures.
Assist with ordering and managing marketing and office supplies.
Help oversee end-of-day shop closing procedures.
Ensure all operational practices align with safety and legal standards.
Promote a culture of punctuality, teamwork, and operational excellence.
People & Team Development
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new team members.
Coach staff in sales, customer service, safety, and job performance.
Support the Operations Manager in building a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Recognize and encourage leadership potential among team members.
Model professionalism, respect, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Marketing & Partnerships
Assist in building and maintaining local partnerships and referral relationships.
Participate in community networking events and professional organizations (e.g., NAPO, NASMM).
Support local marketing and brand visibility efforts, including community outreach and event participation.
Help coordinate and coach team members involved in sales and promotional activities.
Finance & Strategy Support
Assist in monitoring performance against budget and business goals.
Help review P&L reports and communicate key insights to leadership.
Track and analyze KPIs to identify trends and recommend process improvements.Support the development of scalable systems and tools for operational growth. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or equivalent work experience preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in operations, logistics, or team leadership (moving, home services, or related industries preferred).
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proven ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Safety- and results-driven mindset.
Positive attitude with the ability to motivate and influence others.
Experience in sales or customer service is a plus.
