The Quality Technician performs routine daily tasks that ensure the products manufactured meet food safety, regulatory and quality requirements. Various tests are performed, and results are recorded and reported daily. This position offers a wide variety of interaction with all members of the plant team and exposure to the entire manufacturing process. Responsibilities
Perform Inspections including Pre-Operational and Food Safety – document and communicate results. Perform Daily Operating Inspections as needed to assure compliance with GMPs and USDA requirements. Perform Metal Detector Record Checks and inform Supervisor of deficiencies. Calibrate test equipment such as scales, pH meter, thermometers, metal detector, etc. Perform pre-start-up and changeover verifications and documentation. Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities. Monitor HACCP Critical Control Point. Perform Quality Audits as required. Perform in-bound raw and packaging material checks to ensure customer requirements are met. Liaison with USDA. Report and follow-up on Food Safety and Food Quality concerns. Follow all Food Safety PPE/GMP requirements and report any concerns in the plant. Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish/Hindi). Desirable Qualifications
Previous experience in food manufacturing environment is a plus. Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong organizational skills. Ability to interact and manage conflict in stressful situations while maintaining composure and perspective. Ability to identify and solve problems. Strong initiative and the ability to work with others to achieve results. Accountability for results. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Ability to work cooperatively and maintain a professional working relationship with employees. Ability to read and understand formulas and specification sheets. Work Environment
Exposure to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks. The environment may be cold and wet, with a typically loud noise level. Additional Details
