In the role of Transmission Line Project Manager, we'll count on you to:
Managing and leading transmission projects throughout the entire project life cycle, including scope and proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, quality control, schedule, and budget management.
Working independently and directing, mentoring, training, and supervising one or more Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative staff.
Leading the QA/QC process on projects per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements with a commitment to delivering world-class quality.
Overseeing non-engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, construction management, and other services.
Managing and executing the engineering and design components of transmission projects.
Leveraging existing staff across the company to execute work and deliver world-class services to clients in the region.
Performing client management, project management, staff supervision, and technical support activities.
Supporting and engaging in broader business development activities with existing and target clients in the region.
Leading multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.
Working with senior engineers and technical leaders to identify and develop specific technical expertise and attending training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to the transmission industry.
Assisting with development of technical papers and presentations that showcase HDR’s technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and client relationships in Texas considered a strong advantage. Professional Engineering (PE) License. Transmission line design experience using PLS-CADD, steel, and wood transmission structure analysis/design, foundation design, material procurement, specifications, and construction support. Track record of working cooperatively with diverse teams; regional, department, and technical managers; and project staff. Experience with transmission line, distribution line, and associated strategic services aspects (i.e., routing, permitting, public involvement, right of way acquisition) of projects with strong technical experience in design. Experience using project management tools such as MS Project or SmartSheet. MS Access experience. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field. 7 years related experience. A minimum of 2 years project management experience. Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
