Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of manufacturing or production lines, ensuring products are made efficiently, on time, and meet quality standards. The role typically involves managing a team of production workers, providing direction and discipline, coordinating with different departments, and ensuring safety and productivity goals are met. Location: Davenport, IA. Responsibilities

Production Support: Oversee and coordinate the daily activities on the production floor to ensure efficient workflow. Monitor the production process and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines. Ensure that production targets and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) are met. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with manufacturing engineering, hourly employees, union reps, maintenance, quality, material flow, production planning, design engineering, and supply chain to achieve manufacturing goals. Support safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency objectives on a day-to-day basis. Safety and Compliance: Ensure manufacturing processes and personnel comply with safety regulations and standards. Maintain workplace organization and cleanliness (5S). Train and enforce safety and ergonomic protocols to minimize hazards. Conduct regular safety checks and address concerns to maintain a safe work environment. Protect plant inventory and company property. Quality: Collaborate with quality engineers to ensure processes and products meet quality standards, address defects or deviations. Support cross-training of operators and scrap reduction; perform regular quality checks and audits and take corrective actions as needed. Delivery: Adhere to planning schedules to ensure efficient production. Remove roadblocks and ensure on-time delivery of areas of responsibility. Monitor use of raw materials, tools, people, and equipment; coordinate with supply chain or purchasing to maintain inventory levels. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and request repairs or replacements when necessary. Efficiency: Monitor and control production expenses including labor costs, material usage, and overhead to ensure profitability and budget alignment. Identify opportunities to improve production processes, implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques, and lead projects to increase productivity and reduce downtime. Team Leadership

Lead and manage a team of production workers, including scheduling, training, payroll, attendance, and performance management. Interpret and follow union contracts. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and productivity. Provide guidance and coaching to workers to meet production standards and improve performance. Reporting and Communication

Prepare daily or weekly production reports, including output, defects, downtime, and labor performance. Communicate with management about production progress, challenges, and required support. Coordinate with other departments such as quality control, maintenance, logistics, and engineering to ensure smooth operations.
