Overview
The Duct Shop Foreman oversees all day-to-day operations in the duct fabrication shop. This role ensures timely and accurate production of ductwork and fittings to meet project schedules and field requirements. The Foreman manages shop manpower, coordinates with the field team, and ensures quality standards and safety procedures are maintained. Key Responsibilities
Fabrication Oversight: supervise daily duct fabrication, including coil line, burn table, and layout work; ensure accuracy of ductwork fabricated according to coordination drawings, specifications and field requirements; monitor material usage and inventory, coordinating with purchasing as needed. Planning & Coordination: review project drawings and perform take-offs to plan shop production; prioritize and schedule fabrication orders based on project timelines; coordinate closely with field foremen to receive and fulfill duct orders; communicate with the coordination/detailing department to clarify drawings or resolve discrepancies. Manpower & Leadership: direct daily tasks for shop employees and allocate manpower effectively; provide training, guidance, and mentorship to shop personnel; maintain accountability for productivity, attendance, and safety compliance. Quality & Safety: enforce quality control standards to ensure fabricated duct meets specifications; ensure shop cleanliness, organization, and safe work practices; conduct regular safety checks and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
