Summary

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging, and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military, and civilian employees. This position is located at Naval Station Everett Food & Beverage.

Duties

Develop the food and beverage department's annual business plan.

Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate the day‑to‑day operation of the food and beverage departments in accordance with established budget, regulations, policies, and standard operating procedures.

Ensure that kitchen prepares menu items per recipe and cost cards.

Analyze cost data and update pricing structures quarterly when necessary.

Review and approve any planned menu items ensuring market acceptance and adherence to budgeted costs.

Analyze projected weekly sales forecasts and ensure that the appropriate staffing guidelines are used for scheduling.

Prepare and justify the annual budget for inclusion in the overall MWR operating budget.

Maintain fees and charges to ensure the center remains self‑sufficient as required by instruction.

Review and analyze all revenue and cost lines for each department's profit and loss statements.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory duties

Establish objectives, planning, and priorities for accomplishment of workload either directly or through subordinate supervisors.

Ensure weekly labor schedules are prepared and adjust labor to fluctuations of revenue and workload requirements in a timely manner.

Work to improve quality of work and devise strategies for cost and time savings.

Conduct meetings with employees on a regular basis to discuss new and novel techniques for increasing business and promoting industry.

Manage personnel resources assigned to the facilities, including effective workforce utilization, position management, and resolving minor grievances and complaints.

Monitor and approve or disapprove timekeeping and leave requests.

Establish performance standards, provide continuous feedback, and conduct annual performance reviews of staff. Issue or recommend employee recognition and awards.

Perform other related supervisory duties as assigned.

Requirements

Incumbent must pass all applicable records and background checks.

Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license for travel to other facilities within the region.

Must be able to work varied work schedules, including holidays, weekends, and evenings.

Staff member may be recalled to duty or required to work overtime to handle emergency situations and/or ensure work coverage.

Requirements include extended periods of standing; walking and lifting/carrying objects up to 45 pounds, with occasional lifting of more than 45 pounds with proper assistance.

Qualifications Requires two years' general experience that demonstrates progressively responsible administrative, professional, and technical work involving knowledge of food and beverage operations and catering.

Requires a minimum of one year specialized experience relative to managing food and beverage operations.

Education: There is no educational requirement for this position.
