TEKsystems is in need of a Project Manager for a permanent opportunity with our client. This client is a communications contractor offering a full range of fiber optic and cable network services, servicing Cox Communications, Comcast Cable, Segra, Suddenlink and Windstream in the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington D.C. They are a trusted resource for cabling and maintaining high-speed internet connectivity via fiber optic and coaxial systems. This is a direct placement opportunity with a stable and growing company, located onsite in Dandridge, TN. Responsibilities
Provide strategic oversight of telecommunications construction projects (OSP) including Commercial (Metro E and SMB) and Residential (Multiple Dwelling Units) work, with a 60/40 split between aerial and underground. Manage a team of Construction Coordinators, Construction Managers, and technicians; coordinate day-to-day activities and provide updates to clients. Focus on client-facing activities, assess current processes to gain efficiencies, and manage vendor relationships and internal/external communications. Oversee turn-key projects: site surveys, site walks, BOM creation and validation, line-item approvals, setting expectations with end clients, coordinating construction with crews, performing QC, and driving projects through close-out to validate as-builts and overall budget. Create accurate project timelines after assessing scope, ensure work is completed efficiently, correctly, and within budget. Support growth in the TN region and contribute as if running an autonomous office. Requirements / Qualifications
Experience across Design, Permitting, and Construction is a plus (in-house permitting team available). Strong internal and external communication abilities; ability to raise awareness of vendor performance; collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders. Site surveys, site walks, BOM creation, budget management, item approvals, and ability to work with contractors and in-house teams. Ability to create and manage project timelines and ensure timely execution of work. On-call responsibilities to mitigate outages and ensure crews respond promptly. Intermediate level experience in project management and related skills (OSP, fiber optic, coax, infrastructure, Excel, etc.). Skills & Qualifications Details
