Description Of Work The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate organization and mediate the function of the Maple team through duties of typing, duplication, disseminating documents, maintaining records (resident charts, supply inventories, files), and communicating information to ensure that policies, procedures and operations are consistent with JIRDC standards. The position requires regular use of a computer and applicable software to process documents. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, public contact, records and reports, filing, equipment operations, and mail. This is an 8‑hour position with the following schedule: Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Management Preferences Salary Range : $31,200 - $49,340.00
Candidates meet the minimum qualifications if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) / Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Employment experience working with people with intellectual disabilities such as in a day program, large residential facility, hospital/medical setting, or school.
Computer skills, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office suite, Word Perfect, or equivalent.
Experience in operation of office equipment and filing and record keeping.
Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize duties, communicate orally and in writing, and follow written and oral instructions.
Shift (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) Monday – Friday
About J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center The J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in Morganton, North Carolina is an ICF certified facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities. It provides comprehensive residential care to citizens from 37 counties in the western portion of the state. The center is located an hour from Charlotte and Asheville and sits on picturesque property near Lake James and Pisgah National Forest.
