Position Overview:
The Dam Project Manager leads complex dam and other water infrastructure projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role oversees all areas of the project, including project planning and execution, scheduling, project team and subcontractor management, financial management, field oversight, and owner relationships.
He or she also reinforces Massman's Incident & Injury Free Initiative along with our corporate mission and vision statement in the daily performance of their work.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end delivery of complex dam and marine infrastructure projects, overseeing planning, design, construction, and closeout
Manage cross-functional project teams and subcontractors to ensure safe, high-quality, on-time, and on-budget execution
Oversee project controls, including scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and contract administration
Coordinate with clients, agencies, engineers, and internal teams to align goals and ensure smooth project progression
Serve as a technical and client-facing leader, directing design and compliance efforts while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring successful project outcomes
Serve as technical lead for dam-related work such as embankments, outlet works, spillways, cofferdams, and dewatering systems
Develop and review engineering deliverables including calculations, reports, drawings, specifications, and proposals
Participate in and lead field investigations and site inspections as needed
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, fostering team growth and professional development
Represent the company professionally in meetings with clients, regulatory bodies, and industry partners
Maintain a strong safety, environmental, and quality focus throughout all project phases
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
10-12 years of relevant experience in heavy civil or water infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in supervisory role
Strong understanding of heavy civil and marine construction methods, including mass and structural concrete, hydraulic steel structures, drilled shafts, and pile driving.
Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget
Proficient in project management and construction software such as Microsoft Office Suite, HCSS, and Primavera P6
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
OSHA 30 certification required
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
Familiarity with USACE standards and processes preferred
Travel Requirements:
Travel required
Periodic relocation may be required in response to successful pursuits and staffing needs
