Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor and some advanced repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, transmissions, clutches, and related systems. Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, brake, cooling, air conditioning, engine, steering, and other systems; use diagnostic tools and test instruments. Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions; road test vehicles to verify repairs. Manage parts inventory for the service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the company service vehicle; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients and management to assess needs, obtain approvals, and discuss findings. Prioritize tasks and manage daily schedule with a high degree of independence. Document work performed, parts used, and observations using a company-issued iOS device and TRAIT application; complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner. Obtain parts from approved vendors as necessary and work within safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Requirements

High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or 5 years’ related experience. Possess and provide a set of hand tools necessary to perform job duties. Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months. Must be able to pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical; or submit a current DOT medical card with remaining validity as applicable. Must be at least 21 years of age due to interstate operating authority. Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File. Certifications

ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire. Preferred Certifications

Ability to learn and apply new information for problem-solving and decision-making. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and perform moderately heavy work for extended periods. Clear, concise communication; effective two-way communication with individuals and groups. Ability to determine required tools and equipment and use them appropriately.
