Job Description
Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced.
Perform and approve the quality of raw materials before manufacturing begins.
Read and understand blueprints and specifications.
Monitor or observe operations to ensure that they meet production standards.
Recommend adjustments to the process or assembly.
Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
Accept or reject finished items.
Remove all products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.
Report inspection and test data.
Ensure attention to details in incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
Perform receiving, 1st piece, and in-process inspections for work in process during manufacture.
Verify and document that materials are manufactured to blueprint requirements.
Maintain acceptable quality levels during manufacture of products and assemblies.
Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
3 – 5 years of related work experience.
College degree or equivalent.
Ability to identify and resolve problems, effectively manage change, and deal with conflict in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with calipers, micrometers.
Perform first article inspection in accordance with AS9100 in-process and final inspection processes.
Knowledge of operating electronic inspection equipment such as coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs).
Self-motivated, able to work independently within prescribed guidelines or as a team member.
Knowledge of MRP software systems and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 5S and/or Lean Manufacturing.
Aerospace product knowledge.
Must be a U.S. or Green Card holder.
