Assistant Store Leader Kate Spade New York is a global lifestyle brand known for its optimistic femininity and modern sophisticated style. As part of the Tapestry portfolio, we are seeking an experienced retail professional to lead a store, drive sales, and uphold our brand standards.

Responsibilities

Coach and inspire the team on proactive client outreach and relationship building with new and existing customers.

Partner with the Store Leader to develop initiatives that drive repeat business or attract new clients to the store.

Ensure each associate actively uses their client book, reviews it monthly, and conducts outreach to maximize sales.

Maintain compliance with all client‑service standards and the thank‑you note program.

Guarantee all associates complete the required sales training program.

Model a high‑performance selling environment and provide consistent coaching on sales processes.

Assist the Store Leader in achieving financial success through measurable performance improvements that influence overall store performance.

Assume the Store Leader role in their absence.

Lead by example by attaining personal sales goals.

Educate the team on sales plans, personal goals, and measurable stats, coaching them to meet or exceed these targets.

Network in the community to efficiently fill open positions with minimal business disruption.

Conduct ongoing reviews and assessments of employee performance.

Communicate the Kate Spade New York brand aesthetic, philosophy, and lifestyle to the sales team and customers.

Ensure brand and operating standards are met to support brand consistency.

Implement visual merchandising directives and maintain store presentation standards.

Report merchandise sell‑through, stock position, business trends, product issues, and customer feedback to the Store Leader to improve service and sales.

Supervise store opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, bank deposits, and facility security.

Assist with payroll budget management by scheduling and adjusting as needed.

Monitor, maintain, and enforce company policies and loss‑prevention procedures to protect inventory and assets.

Accurately process all POS transactions to maintain inventory integrity.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of management experience in a comparable retail environment.

College degree preferred.

Prior luxury goods experience preferred.

Professional sales development and superior interpersonal skills.

Strong leadership qualities with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and with clients.

Ability to analyze sales reports, identify business trends, and respond quickly to business needs.

Comfortable making decisions and mediating conflicts within a team environment.

Proficiency in Windows-based software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

Available to work the required store schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to safely lift boxes up to 40 pounds.

Comfortable climbing ladders.
