Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for all elements of the project management position, including managing one or multiple projects from pre-booking to customer acceptance, directing project activities across the lifecycle, and ensuring projects meet contractual objectives through effective management of schedule, cost, and scope. The role acts as the primary contact between the customer and the organization to maintain relationships and drive customer satisfaction, while influencing key stakeholders to meet customer needs and business requirements. Responsibilities

Provide consultation on proposal development, including estimating project management efforts and scheduling projects for proposals. Participate in internal Kick Off meetings from Sales/Application Engineering to the organization. Initiate and lead the Customer Kick Off meeting. Flow down contract requirements to the project team and ensure each member understands their obligations. Develop the project schedule and allocate project budget based on internal and external commitments (contractual). Develop and manage the project schedule with input from various departments to align with internal and contractual delivery commitments. Conduct project-specific meetings with in-house personnel and the customer as needed. Follow document management processes to ensure compliance with business, contractual, and retention requirements/laws. Manage scope and deliverables from vendors and subcontractors. Validate project terms, conditions, and commercial viability using Powell quotes and standard practices as the baseline. Participate and present project status at Project Review and POC meetings as required. Coordinate project management responsibilities with other Powell Divisions on multi-organizational projects. Develop and manage Project Management Plans as needed. Execute project activities to proactively meet cost, schedule, deliverables, and scope requirements; manage changes to meet customer requirements. Proactively manage risks and opportunities and communicate with the business and customer as needed. Follow the change management process to document and approve changes that impact cost, schedule, or scope. Serve as the focal point for all communications between the customer and Powell; lead problem resolution throughout the project lifecycle. Update project financials (revenue budgets, cost budgets, forecasts) and communicate potential risks to upper management/accounting. Provide updates on project schedule status to the customer and ensure delivery of customer deliverables to maintain schedule, cost, and scope. Prepare or oversee contractual invoicing, pursue timely payments, and authorize major purchases from suppliers and subcontractors. Obtain formal acceptance from the Customer for all contractual deliverables; authorize and approve all project shipments. Ensure completion of project closeout activities and accountability for commercial success and customer satisfaction. Qualifications

Bachelor degree in business, engineering, or related field from an accredited institution and/or equivalent work experience. Preferably three (3) years of project management experience in construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, power distribution, or similarly complex projects. Professional body membership and project management certification preferred. Experience with project management functions such as purchasing, commercial/sales, and engineering management. Proven ability to lead and influence a matrix-organized team through project lifecycle with a clear WBS aligned to scope, budget, and schedule. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all stakeholders; detail-oriented and results-driven. Ability to make good decisions based on limited information and negotiate with customers, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders. Strong focus on customer satisfaction and ability to deliver technical solutions to customers. Proficiency with project scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, ERP system). Working Conditions

Typical office environment with potential work in a manufacturing environment and exposure to factory conditions. Some fieldwork at construction sites or active customer facilities may be required. This position may travel approximately 5-10% of the time and must be able to travel with short notice and/or for extended periods. Physical Requirements

Regularly required to use hands to touch, hold, or feel; frequently required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Maintain balance and agility when navigating stairs and movements related to the role. About Us
