FLSA Status Hourly Non‑exempt
What you’ll do
Tackle general facility and machine maintenance; find root causes and implement lasting fixes.
Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and forklifts.
Clean, lubricate, grease, and oil machinery, equipment, and tools for optimal performance.
Assist teammates in diagnosing mechanical and equipment malfunctions.
Perform minor electrical tasks (e.g., replace bulbs/fuses); assist with basic carpentry/repairs; if licensed, complete routine repairs to electrically powered equipment and appliances per instructions and manuals.
Service and replace minor plumbing fixtures.
Prepare and refinish surfaces with paint, varnish, and stain as needed.
Set up, remove, and store production molds following documented procedures.
Bench‑test, clean, rebuild, and inspect fill guns and ejectors to maintain performance.
Collect, test, and report water samples (hardness, pH, etc.) across process stages.
Follow plant job specifications and task lists; complete all required paperwork accurately.
Advance equipment reliability via structured PM and PdM programs.
Champion safety: adhere to all protocols, including lockout/tagout, and wear PPE properly.
Keep work areas clean; support area/equipment cleaning as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Two‑year degree or technical certificate preferred.
3+ years of related maintenance experience; able to work independently on standard repairs.
Proficient reading schematics to troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Experience with MRP/ERP work order processes.
Hands‑on with low‑pressure boilers, air compressors, air driers, and vacuum pumps.
Forklift maintenance experience.
Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, and attend after‑hours meetings as needed.
Self‑directed, safety‑minded, and organized; strong time management.
Tools and materials The plant provides the required tools to perform all job functions. Personal tools may be used if reviewed and approved by plant management.
Physical demands
Frequently lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
Close vision required.
Regularly sit, use hands, and talk/hear; frequently stand and walk.
Reach with hands and arms; stoop/crouch, bend, or twist.
Occasionally push, pull, and move materials; work in awkward positions under equipment or around operating machinery.
Work Environment The work environment is typical of most manufacturing environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually high with ear protection required as posted.
