Overview
The Buyer plays a pivotal role in supporting procurement operations by managing purchasing activities and supplier relationships. This position is essential for ensuring timely procurement of goods and services to meet company needs efficiently.
Responsibilities
Manage requisitions, execute purchase orders, and oversee end-to-end procurement process for goods and services
Maintain supplier relationships—domestic and potentially international—including performance evaluations and collaboration on quality and cost improvements
Monitor inventory levels and participate in stock planning to optimize availability and minimize shortages
Track and manage purchase orders, handle exceptions such as delays, and ensure timely receipt of goods
Evaluate supplier performance metrics, address quality issues, and escalate concerns as necessary
Support cost reduction efforts through supplier negotiations and inventory control strategies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Engineering, Production, and Quality Assurance to align purchasing strategies with production schedules and quality standards
Assist in new product development projects by providing sourcing insights and vendor capabilities
Skills And Abilities
Preferred 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles
Familiarity with procurement software and inventory management tools
Ability to interpret data and make informed decisions to support purchasing objectives
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Attention to detail in managing procurement processes and ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment
Proactive in identifying issues and suggesting solutions to optimize procurement operations
