Location Augusta University Our Health Sciences Campus: 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912 Our Summerville Campus: 2500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904 College/Department Information The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University provides dental education to the next generation of professionals by offering hands-on education through innovative research, patient care, and service. The DCG was founded to provide the people of Georgia with quality dental care by educating students in dentistry. Patients may receive treatment in student clinics, resident care, or in the faculty practice. All dental treatments can be completed by the specialists in our facility. We also serve patients in more than 20 clinics across Georgia. Job Summary

The duties include, but are not limited to: Supervise, coordinate and participate in all activities concerning the Central Supply and Lab Tracking areas in the Dental College of Georgia. Responsible for supervising the daily operations of lab tracking; managing the flow of lab cases through the DCG to internal and external labs. Responsible for maintaining inventory of implant parts, bone material and precious metals. Responsible for timely receipt, distribution, and shipping of supplies and equipment for the Dental College of Georgia. Responsible for the direct supervision of 7 staff members. Provides support and monitors activities to ensure compliance with instructional goals and adherence to DCG and state guidelines. Act as a liaison between DCG and suppliers regarding inbound and outbound shipments; ensuring any delivery problems are resolved in a timely manner. Assists in developing and maintaining current departmental policies and procedures; communicating these policies and procedures with departments and employees; as well as providing and maintaining departmental reports for administrative and regulatory purposes. Responsible for managing employee leave requests and maintaining those employees time through OneUsg. Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to: SUPERVISION AND MAINTENANCE:

Supervise the distribution of supplies that are dispensed to the Central Dispensaries from Central Supply. Ensure the proper documentation is kept by staff concerning the issuing and receiving of supplies. Order inventory and ensure distribution of all materials and supplies for preclinical and clinical activities. Maintain and monitor accurate inventory of all commonly used supply items and ensure that sufficient quantities are on hand to meet the demands of the school. Work with purchasing, warehouse, and vendors to resolve problems and discrepancies concerning orders and deliveries for the school. Place orders through PeopleSoft, HMM and/or Healthy Shop and Axium as needed. DAILY TASKS:

Supervise the daily flow of dental lab cases (both internal and external). Ensure all cases are logged into the database and monitor for timely processing and patient account payment. Monitor pickup and delivery of cases by external labs. Reconcile lab invoices and submit paperwork for payment. Coordinate with labs for discrepancies in charges and problems with pickups and deliveries. Manage inventory of implant parts, bone material, precious metals and bleaching kits for the college. Monitor adherence to the CDM Implant Policy. Monitor inventory levels to stay adequately stocked of patient care. Place orders for parts and material through PeopleSoft as needed. Maintain gold ledger. Ensure all inventory issued in excess is returned in a timely manner, and charge providers if inventory is not returned. STRA AND RESIDENT COURSES:

Coordinate efforts to ensure all items needed are available for STRA and Resident Courses. Management of supplies needed for all hands-on continuing education courses. PROCEDURE MANUAL:

Maintain a procedure manual for Central Supply and Lab Tracking. Update manual quarterly and provide Manager with a copy. Meet with Manager regularly to review departmental and staff issues. PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR:

Serve as the property management coordinator for the department equipment property account. INVENTORY CONTROL:

Manage the Central Supply and Lab Tracking chemical inventory control and storage program. STAFF SUPERVISION:

Direct supervision of 6 staff members. Responsible for training, time management and performance reviews. OTHER DUTIES:

Perform all other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Two years of organized experience in inventory management. Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with experience in purchasing, management of supply inventory, and accounting. Dental supply knowledge. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge : Knowledge of the principles of infectious disease transmission; infection prevention and control. Knowledge of dental instruments, supplies, equipment and procedures. Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Abilities : Ability to maintain confidentiality. Detail and team oriented. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to learn new software, particularly patient management software. Familiar with various dental operations.
