Position Title:
Service Advisor Locations: North Lake, FL Join our Schumacher family. Position Description The
Service Advisor
oversees the day-to-day operations and flow of the Service Drive, greets customers, and assists with scheduled maintenance, mechanical concerns, or factory warranty issues. The Service Advisor serves as a liaison between customers and technicians, resolving questions and matters that may arise.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Advises customers about necessary service for routine maintenance.
Helps identify a mechanical problem by questioning the customer, visual inspection, or road test.
Confer with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work orders for needed repairs.
Prepare a repair order showing time, cost, and labor estimates for service.
Write a brief description of the customer’s concern on the repair order to help technicians locate the problem.
Explain the work performed and the repair order charges to the customer.
Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtain vehicle information.
Refer to service history, inspect the vehicle, and recommend additional needed service.
Advise customers on car care and the value of maintaining vehicles per manufacturers’ specifications.
Provide a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
Establish promised time; check with dispatcher if necessary.
Obtain customer signature on repair order and provide a copy.
Establish customer’s method of payment and obtain credit approval, if necessary.
Monitor progress of repairs and communicate changes in estimates or promised time with proper authorization for any additional repairs.
Deliver excellent customer service.
Additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications / What We Are Looking For
High school diploma or GED.
At least 6 months of experience as a Service Advisor/Writer at a dealership.
Customer service experience preferred.
Strong track record of performance and CSI scores. CDK experience preferred but training available for the right candidate.
Previous sales/negotiation experience is a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong follow-through.
Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed.
Professional appearance and good work ethics.
Ability to clearly address customer queries or concerns and handle minor complaints while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Valid Florida Driver’s License.
All applicants must pass pre-employment testing, including a successful background check and drug screening.
