Overview
PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOC - 10124. This position functions as a HR Quality Control Associate within Human Resources Solutions (HRS) for the Department of Social Services, the Human Resources Administration, and the Department of Homeless Services. Hours/Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Work Location: 4 World Trade Center Salary: $66,062.00 – $75,971.00 The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA provides essential benefits to New Yorkers in need, while DHS focuses on preventing and addressing homelessness. Human Resources Solutions (HRS) supports HR needs through strategic partnership to create an inclusive, motivated, and client-centered workforce. HRS is recruiting for one (1) Principal Administrative Associate III to function as a HR Quality Control Associate.
Responsibilities
Audit cases processed by the Employee Processing Representatives by reviewing personnel actions (including promotions and new hire actions), verify candidates’ experience and education qualifications, review background checks, ensure accuracy in demographic data, review Traveling Personnel Folders (TPF), and resolve pending/complex related actions. Prepare detailed analysis of error causation and impact on a case-by-case basis; summarize findings for identifying areas of weakness and deficiencies; prepare corrective action reports and initiatives. Ensure records are current and complete, in compliance with Federal, State, and City regulations and agency policies. Attend meetings with the Executive Director, Recruitment & Onboarding, and Director, Onboarding/Quality Assurance to discuss error patterns and assist in the development of training programs to reduce errors. Meet with supervisor to discuss error patterns and potential methods of reducing errors. Compile and maintain statistical records of weekly and monthly activities of the Processing unit. Attend meetings and participate in special projects as needed to support the work and goals of the unit. Assist with candidate processing and background checks, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; OR An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of administrative supervisory experience as described above; OR A four-year high school diploma or equivalent with five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of administrative supervisory experience as described above; Education and/or experience equivalent to the above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described above. Education beyond high school may substitute for general clerical/administrative experience at a rate of 30 semester credits for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.
