Electronic Components Operations Manager
Firefly Aerospace is seeking an Electronic Components Operations Manager to support the manufacture and test of flight harnesses, avionics, and batteries. This position will sit in our electronics manufacturing facility in Cedar Park, Texas and will transition to sit at our Rocket Ranch in Briggs, Texas.
Responsibilities
Lead Avionics production team to deliver quality products on time and on cost.
Manage employee schedules to support critical operations, production, and company goals.
Enforce safety guidelines and improve shop safety practices.
Ensure employees have the resources and support needed to be successful, including identifying needs and providing training, tools, and materials.
Ensure operations are performed according to proper documentation and specifications as called out by detailed work instructions.
Manage PTO and timecards.
Maintain daily production schedule and communicate it to the team, highlighting and raising issues to leadership.
Implement continuous improvements on the floor.
Develop long-term project and capacity planning.
Support of 1st and 2nd shift as needed.
Identify and rectify bottlenecks and/or shortages.
Partner with the planning team to align on production capacity and weekly production plans to ensure commitments are feasible and meet program needs.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and quality to address gaps impacting production and implement solutions to improve efficiency.
Develop KPIs and deliverables to measure, analyze, and report production progress.
Establish direction and processes to meet production goals, including defining production needs and growth, and mapping labor and cost plans to drive budgets for annual operating plans.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in a related field.
5+ years experience in electronics or harness assembly.
3+ years supervisory/leadership experience.
Experience in manufacturing environments, driving lean manufacturing principles, and developing production metrics and processes.
Working knowledge of ERP functionality.
3+ years experience in change management and managing processes.
Experience establishing new procedures and streamlining existing procedures.
Strong initiative and ability to take action.
Desired
3+ years of experience specifically within the aerospace/aviation industry.
Ability to wear multiple hats and partner cross-functionally.
Track record of driving success and managing competing priorities.
Experience with component assembly, testing operations, and troubleshooting.
Expertise in managing people and priorities, with ERP report generation.
