Corrective Maintenance Group Leader COMPANY BACKGROUND Bharat Forge is building the backbone of the transportation industry. We create top quality lightweight aluminum components for luxury vehicles.
Job Summary The Corrective Maintenance Group Leader is responsible for managing a team of maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective repair of machinery and equipment across casting, forging, and machining lines. This role ensures equipment downtime is minimized and corrective maintenance activities are executed in alignment with production goals, safety standards, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Supervision
Lead, train, and mentor a team of corrective maintenance technicians.
Assign tasks based on priority and technician capability.
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and implement skill development plans.
Corrective Maintenance Execution
Oversee diagnosis and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures in aluminum casting, forging presses, and CNC machining centers.
Coordinate the repair of broken-down equipment to restore operational status efficiently.
Track MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), examine failure modes, and review maintenance records to identify critical parts and predict potential failures.
Ensure all repairs, preventive & predictive maintenance are completed to standard and documented appropriately in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Technical & Process Improvement
Analyze repetitive equipment failures to identify root causes and suggest design or operational improvements.
Collaborate with engineering to implement technical solutions that improve equipment reliability.
Participate in and lead Kaizen, 5S, and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities.
Spare Part Management & Critical Spare Parts availability to prevent equipment downtime and maintain operational continuity.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate maintenance records including downtime analysis, job completion reports, and failure logs.
Contribute to weekly maintenance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and breakdown frequency.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure the team follows LOTO, PPE, and other safety standards.
Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Qualifications Education & Experience
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical / industrial engineering.
10+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing maintenance, preferably in aluminum or metalworking industries.
5+ years of supervisory or team lead experience.
Technical Skills
Strong hands‑on knowledge of mechanical repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC‑based controls, and industrial safety.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings, maintenance manuals, and schematics.
Familiarity with CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office tools.
