What This Role Will Be Doing The Logistics Supervisor position will oversee dispatch for the entire network, have daily dispatch responsibilities for multiple Distribution Centers, provide training for new and existing dispatchers to ensure network alignment and standardization, be responsible for maintaining proper SAFETY procedures, provide valuable reporting to drive data driven decisions by management, proper maintenance of the equipment, ensuring that we accurately distribute quality building materials on a predictable schedule that fit our customer’s needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the efficient daily routing of delivery trucks to customers and transfer routes to other locations.
Consistently review the routes to make sure they are profitable and in line with the current business level.
Lead dispatch group to successful and timely routed equipment daily.
Develop plans for covering dispatchers when vacation is scheduled.
Develop and provide existing reporting to determine if route restructuring is necessary.
Maintain a positive and clean work environment in conjunction with maintaining all SAFETY procedures.
Contacting common carrier for loads to other locations.
Maintains daily the dropping of orders into M3 for next day customer delivery and transfer routes for multiple locations
Schedules regular truck and trailer maintenance/repair.
Ensures completion of inspection dates on all trucks and trailers through effective communication with drivers.
Assess the need for rental trucks and schedule as needed.
Audit driver’s logs to ensure compliance is being maintained fully and address issues.
Schedule drivers drug tests and physicals as requested.
Work with management to improve driver training.
Work with management to improve and provide dispatch training.
Ability to learn and train on transportation system software. (Samsara, Final Mile)
Assist with Will Call customers and their orders when needed.
Daily communication with the Distribution Center Managers and Dispatchers.
All other tasks as assigned by Logistics management.
a Logistics Supervisor Will Possess And Demonstrate
Ability to manage multiple demands while maintaining solid communication skills both verbally and especially by e-mail
Overall safety mindset is crucial to create an imbedded culture of safety within the employee population.
Ability to demonstrate leadership skills that portray an excellent team work mentality
Problem solving and innovative solutions to eliminate obstacles
Dynamic self-motivation and ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to maintain positive moral within the workforce.
Education / Experience
High school diploma & 5 years of related work experience, an associates degree & 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Software experience using Outlook, Excel, Word, Sharepoint.
ERP technology – experience a plus but not required – training will be provided.
Final Mile Transportation Management Systems experience- experience a plus but not required – training will be provided.
Working Demands / Physical Requirements
Complete work at a desk sitting or standing using a PC.
Ability to drive or fly for long periods of time
Ability to stand/bend/walk for long periods of time
Travel as needed up to 10%
