Responsibilities

Provides a safe working environment and completes any accident/incident reports

Responsible for the overall quality of the department operations. Work closely with Quality Assurance to insure all presses are running quality parts

Responsible for all aspects of production, machines running to standard, machine efficiencies, down-time, quality

Responsible for the direction and training of all technical team members and material handlers

Enter production into WEBEFF

Implement required disciplinary action and all related documentation

Oversee department housekeeping

Determine appropriate internal and external assistance that may be required by the department

Other duties as assigned by the Molding Manager

Follow all good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) and (HACCP) Practices

Ensure all SQF requirements are adhered to

Must know the Quality Policy and apply it to working practices

Must be able to work in a team environment and help others as needed

Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provides clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations

Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk

Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures, and applicable laws

Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks

Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner

Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible

Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals

Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises daily activities of all production and technical hourly employees in the Molding Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education And/or Experience Three to five years previous supervisory, quality and or injection molding experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Spanish speaking a plus.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; each with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Additional Info Job Type: Full‑time 12 hour Night Shift: 6:30 PM to 7 AM
