Position Overview Project Managers lead our production activities in the field, making decisions that impact the success of the assignment. The role includes monitoring and inspecting tasks for commercial and residential restoration jobs to ensure completion of drying, demolition and other restoration activities. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing documentation such as notes, photos and other documents per company policies, explaining processes to customers, and supervising technicians assigned to the job. Excellent technical skills coupled with strong customer‑service skills are essential for handling challenging situations.
Additionally, Project Managers may assist the estimator or be responsible for creating estimates in Xactimate, utilizing program guidelines and IICRC standards. A basic construction background is required, including knowledge of building materials, flooring, and other materials affected by wind, water, fire, smoke and other damage causes.
Job Responsibilities
Retrieve work orders, check route for travel, ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded, and arrive at the work site.
Complete assigned jobs according to company processes, maintaining quality control within the budget of each job.
Perform daily monitoring on active residential and/or commercial jobs and communicate with customers.
Maintain records of personnel and resources used on projects and communicate all billable events.
May be responsible for creation of estimates in applicable software.
Inspect and scope jobs onsite and work with Project Manager/Crew Chief/Lead Tech on scope of job.
Document/review loss with clear and descriptive job photos and upload into operating system/software.
May write mitigation and reconstruction estimates using Xactimate.
Communicate conversations and key information on the job using the notes feature in required software.
Estimate using carrier audit standards and manage the estimate based on feedback from client and customer.
Explain the drying process and next steps to resolution in person to customers using printed materials.
Interface with adjusters and customers in person, over the phone, and virtually to resolve issues and answer questions about the loss.
May perform quality assurance inspections after completion and obtain customer signatures for approval, and request payments when necessary.
Prepare documentation and pictures according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies.
May train new technicians or key operational team members.
Job Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent; college degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of insurance restoration and/or construction industry.
Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
Able to work independently or lead a team.
Professional, mature, and customer-oriented.
Experience managing teams of 2 or more.
Experience entering data using a tablet or mobile phone.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem solving and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines.
Working on‑call schedule is required.
Preferred certifications:
ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician
FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
OCT – Odor Control Technician
WRT – Water Damage Restoration Technician
