Steel and Metal Purchaser

Fabhar Corporation is looking for a Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metal Purchaser who can juggle multiple responsibilities at once and make important decisions in fast-paced environments and is ready to hit the ground running. Relevant experience in Metal Fabrication from rough to finish is preferred. Job Duties Include: Conducting research on potential products, vendors, and services, and comparing price and quality to ensure the best deal for Structural Steel, Miscellaneous Metals and consumable products. Experience reading and compiling “Bill of Materials” for Structural Steel, Miscellaneous Metals and consumable products. Prepare Purchasing reports, cost comparisons, etc. Updating all records of purchased products. Good computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word and ComputerEase is a plus) with critical thinking skills. Research, select and purchase quality products and materials. Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing. Inspecting purchased products upon delivery and reporting any issues timely. Tracking and coordinating lead time and backordered material. Understanding material grades [import, domestic with Material Certificate] for Structural Steel, Miscellaneous Metals and consumable products. Liaising with delivery and warehouse teams to ensure goods are received. Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management Monitoring inventory and writing orders to refill stock. Full Time Position - Pay is $20.00 to $24.00 an hour; Pending skill levels Seniority level
