FIN Production Supervisor (2nd shift)

A high school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational training/certification preferred.
Equivalent background with a minimum of two years casting operations experience.
Work Experience:
Prefer one to three years of industrial supervisory or similar leadership experience.
Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment.
Requirements:
Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity.
Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record.
Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving.
Have strong sense of urgency with the ability to work independently.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.
Responsibility:
Responsible for the safe manufacture of company products which may represent a broad diversity of manufacturing processes.
Responsible for satisfying all quality and productivity requirements in most cost effective manner.
May supervise multiple functions and/or shifts typically but not exclusively through shift/department leads.
Specific Duties:
Provide effective supervision and coaching to assigned employees (approximately 15-25) to achieve the required quality and production goals.
Maintain department records and inventories.
Manage the movement of product through the production area and know where Product is at all times.
Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate, and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality.
Monitor the Operations safety program and insure that all employees comply with safety regulations.
Ensure that the Operations department’s high standard of housekeeping is met and maintained.
Maintain thorough knowledge of all production processes and materials.
Work with employees to resolve technical and personnel problems.
Schedule employees to effectively meet production needs and to ensure vacation and other time off is consistent with plant policies.
Trouble shoots and provides cost effective resolutions to production problems.
Organizes work for smooth operations. Ensure that required documentation is maintained.
Communicate to employees all issues that affect the plant.
Provide shift to shift communication link in order to keep all team members working toward the same goals.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
Perform other duties as determined by the area manager.
Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
