Summary The Production Supervisor is a member of the plant leadership team responsible for delivering operational targets, leading a team and driving business results. The role supervises production associates and collaborates with maintenance, sanitation and shipping.

Duties and Responsibilities

Drive safety, quality, continuous improvement, performance management, associate development, team engagement and operating results in the assigned area.

Build an effective team on the shift, managing training strategy for associates and the team.

Implement and enforce established policy and area/organizational strategies.

Coordinate materials, staffing and resources to support line operation and changeovers.

Collaborate with the Area Leadership Team to create and execute the reliability strategy for the area.

Coach operators to build functional and leadership capabilities, and drive accountability in safety, quality, food safety, autonomous maintenance, and team engagement.

Develop, implement and promote safety programs and safe work practices through plant safety teams and initiatives.

Maintain ongoing production of safe and defect‑free products consistent with Sara Lee Frozen Bakery principles.

Manage associate relations issues, guide hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation of operations associates.

Utilise technical resources for preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of process/packaging equipment.

Identify risks and opportunities, lead on‑shift incident resolution and prioritise resources for escalated issues.

Participate in improvement strategies that enhance line/area performance.

Partner with Talent Acquisition to recruit, select and onboard associates for operations roles.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

3‑5 years of supervisory experience in production, preferably in food processing or fast‑paced consumer products manufacturing.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to handle difficult conversations.

Strong organisational skills.

Willingness to work flexibly, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Willingness to write routine reports and correspondence.

Knowledge of FDA, USDA, and EPA preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Kronos knowledge a plus.

Willingness to become proficient in NetSuite ERP.

Strong troubleshooting skills.

Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.

Ability to lead, motivate and mentor hourly associate teams.

Experience delivering critical performance feedback and holding associates accountable to business objectives.

Physical Requirements

Wear personal protective equipment during the job (e.g., safety glasses, ear plugs, bump cap, hair net, steel‑toe rubber boots, autoclave gloves, goggles).

May be required to work in hot environments up to 102°F for 45‑minute intervals.

May be required to work in cold and/or wet environments down to 0°F.

May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Must stand, stoop, walk, bend, push or pull for the shift, which may last up to 12 hours.

May work in production or warehouse storage areas.

May be required to climb ladders or stairs.

Must perform possible pre‑op duties and read paperwork and labels.
