Overview
The Legal Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff. This role ensures the smooth operation of the legal team by managing case files, preparing legal documents, scheduling, and maintaining communication with clients, courts, and outside parties. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Base pay range
$40,000.00/yr - $50,000.00/yr Responsibilities
Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, correspondence, and contracts. Manage case files, maintain client records, and organize discovery materials. Schedule court hearings, depositions, and client meetings. File legal documents with courts and government agencies (both electronic and paper). Conduct legal and factual research under attorney supervision. Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel in a professional manner. Track deadlines and ensure compliance with filing requirements. Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness lists, and binders. Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; Paralegal Certificate a plus. 1–3 years of experience as a legal assistant or in a similar administrative role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, or similar). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Employment details
