Litigation Paralegal

Alliance Defending Freedom . Locations: Lansdowne, VA As a Litigation Paralegal, you are a vital part of the US Legal Advocacy Team. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Counsel and work with attorneys on the litigation team. You will perform highly advanced and specialized legal assistant work. Work involves researching, drafting legal documents, and assisting attorneys with case management. Work independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities
Act in a confidential capacity to all Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys. Know and understand federal, state, and local rules and ensure they are followed for each case. Utilize CM/ECF to electronically file documents in federal and state courts. Prepare templates for complaints, motions, briefs, petitions, and other legal documents. Create tables of contents and tables of authorities for briefs and other legal documents. Prepare trial notebooks and exhibits. Prepare deposition notices and exhibits. Compile and organize documents for discovery, hearings, and trial preparation. Utilize eDiscovery platform to manage, review, and assist with production. Monitor court docket for assigned cases. Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other online databases. Check citations in briefs and other legal documents to determine accuracy; ensure Bluebook and local rules compliance. Maintain and manage case files and calendaring deadlines in the case management database. Maintain and manage documents in iManage. Assist with special projects as needed. May supervise legal duties of one or more legal administrative assistants, when needed. You may be asked to perform related duties or special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Paralegal degree or national certification or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of advanced experience performing paralegal duties. Strong cite-checking skills and working knowledge of Bluebook. Experience working with multiple attorneys simultaneously while maintaining a heavy litigation caseload. Strong legal research and analytical skills. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to professionally handle confidential information. Ability to make sound decisions under demanding conditions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Pay & Benefits
