Responsibilities As our new (but very experienced NJ-based Matrimonial paralegal), you’ll be a key player in delivering top‑notch legal support to clients. Your responsibilities will include:

Analyzing tax returns and financial documents with a sharp eye for detail.

Assisting clients in completing financial disclosures and discovery answers with minimal oversight.

Drafting motions, pleadings, and client certifications (based on client commentary) for attorney review.

Managing case files using our state‑of‑the‑art case management software.

Communicating with clients empathetically, turning their frustrations into actionable progress.

Embracing and fully using smart, AI‑driven technology (think cloud‑based tools, e‑discovery platforms, and AI‑assisted research) to work smarter, not harder.

Collaborating with attorneys and staff to keep cases moving smoothly and efficiently.

Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits

Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews

Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by conducting research on legal articles, preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings

Take care of administrative tasks such as answering phones and maintaining an organized filing system for all legal documents

Coordinate law office activity, including the drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers

Qualifications

Experience : 3+ years as a family law paralegal in NJ, with a deep understanding of divorce, custody, and financial discovery processes.

Proficient in analyzing tax returns, financial statements, and discovery documents.

Empathetic and patient, genuinely wanting to help clients navigate their most challenging moments.

A positive attitude that doesn’t waver, even when clients are venting or cases get complex.

Emotionally and intellectually mature—no chips on your shoulder, no complaints about the work. You get that every client deserves our best, especially the ones who need it most.

A team player willing to go the extra mile for the firm and clients.

A passion for family law and a belief in our mission to keep parents and kids connected.

Experience with drafting complex motions or certifications.

A knack for explaining legal jargon to clients in plain English.

Talented communicator and writer

Must have great time‑management skills, and organizational skills

Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive preference

3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting

ABA‑approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired

Compensation $65,000 - $75,000 yearly
