The State University of New York, Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC), administered by New York City College of Technology/ CUNY, provides tuition-free academic and workforce development training to eligible New York State residents, offering a pathway to lifelong learning, college access and economic self-sufficiency. BEOC welcomes applications for the position of EOC Administrative Coordinator. Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for BEOC staff and supervisors on HR-related matters. Liaise with City Tech HR to submit and follow up on hiring, reappointments, leaves, and separations. Assist in gathering, reviewing, and organizing required documentation for HR transactions. Coordinate onboarding logistics for new hires (e.g., orientation scheduling, internal communication). Maintain internal tracking systems for staff credentials, evaluations, and compliance timelines. Communicate HR-related updates, reminders, and policy changes to staff as directed by City Tech HR and BEOC management. Support the coordination of training sessions and professional development activities. Respond to routine staff inquiries or refer them to appropriate City Tech HR contacts. Maintain limited confidential personnel records as needed, and assist with data collection for internal reports. Monitor deadlines for required HR actions, assist departments in meeting compliance timelines, and ensure documentation is provided to City Tech HR within expected timeframes. Prepare summary reports or updates for internal use at the direction of the Associate Director of Operations. Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Preferred qualifications
Prior experience with personnel documentation and employee recordkeeping is preferred Ability to comprehend and effectively communicate office policies and procedures Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications, report preparation, and data collection and data entry processes Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in managing assigned tasks CUNY Title Overview
Supports projects, initiatives, and activities within an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC). Organizes office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department May supervise office staff and student workers Performs related duties as assigned. Compensation And Benefits
$70,541 - $75,131. Salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY is implementing salary schedule increases; details will be updated in accordance with the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement. How To Apply
