The Administration Department is seeking a full-time Membership Engagement Coordinator to steward and solicit Friends of the Library donors and manages special events.
The mission of the St. Louis County Library is to provide the resources and services to enrich individual minds, enhance lives and expand perspectives. SLCL is an award winning library system with branches throughout St. Louis County. We have transformed into a meaningful community resource with updated facilities and an array of programs and partnerships that serve over 860,000 patrons.
Hours Monday‑Friday, 40 hours a week; Occasional Saturday and Sunday.
Performance Criteria for the Essential Responsibilities
Recruits, maintains, and manages all aspects of the Friends of the Foundation.
Develops, manages, and executes Friends initiatives.
Works with the Author Events team to create and coordinate activities.
Responsible for all Friends correspondence.
Creates copy for Friends marketing materials.
Orders and maintains incentives and giveaways.
Manages all aspects of donor database.
Responsible for entering all contributions, in‑kind donations, and generating acknowledgement letters within 72 hours.
Manages the updating and auditing processes of the donor database as required.
Creates and updates all donor pulls, such as mailing lists, top donors, weekly givings, and additional as needed.
Meets with Finance team regularly to ensure database and Finance numbers align.
Responsible for the planning and executing special events and programs.
Develops, schedules and maintains accurate calendar of meetings, events and programs.
Coordinates details of special annual events including Donor Breakfast, Author Receptions, etc.
Attends Library and Foundation events to support activities.
Researches and negotiates efficient pricing with third‑party vendors.
Assists with the coordination of the biennial gala and the Popped from the Page event.
Responsible for internal communications and education about Foundation activities.
Manages and creates content for Foundation Stacks page.
Promotes and manages Alison Grants program.
Attends SLCL events as Foundation representative. Including author events, tabling events, etc.
Secures and manages internal volunteers for Foundation activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
2 – 3 years of Fundraising or event management experience required
Knowledge of public relations
Experience with budget management
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite and email
