The Employment Specialist will assist individuals enrolled in Project Search, Student Internship Experiences, Community Habilitation, Community Prevocational Services and Supported Employment to prepare for paid employment or unpaid meaningful community activities, including volunteering. The position reports to the Associate Director of Vocational Services. Responsibilities

Job Functions Regulatory and Corporate Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulations, agency policies and procedures. Ensure required documentation is complete, accurate and legible. Ensure the agency\'s incident management process is followed. Provide input in the development and revisions of policies, procedures and agency forms as needed. Ensure Chain of Command is followed when necessary and instructions are followed as stated in policy and procedures. Promote the highest quality of support by implementing the Code of Ethics and Core Competencies. Keep all information confidential. Financial Management: Assist with ensuring adherence to the annual budget. Assist with ensuring accurate management of individual\'s funds. Complete personal allowance documentation and other financial documentation according to procedure. Person Centered Services: Provide services to individuals as planned in their Life Plan which includes the IPoP, Community Hab Plan, Community Prevoc Plan, Supported Employment Plan, Behavior Support Plans, Day Habilitation Plan, and/or other safeguards; ensure related documentation is completed. Implement activities as outlined in the Staff Action Plan and, as applicable, the Life Plan. Plan and coordinate daily activities. Act as an advocate for individuals. Complete assessments and baseline data as assigned. Assist and support individuals with community integration. Respect privacy and confidentiality. Work collaboratively with others to ensure health and well-being. Ensure emergency medical procedures are followed and consult with the medical chain of command when necessary. Provide services and follow the Plan of Nursing Services (PONS). Report and document all medical concerns. Complete weekly one-on-one meetings with the Rise Project Manager and prepare an agenda. Complete one-page profiles and assist POMS as applicable. Support vocational goal development and help individuals adapt to social demands of the workplace. Develop/teach strategies for soft skills, stress management and navigating workplace rules. Teach and support activities to prepare for competitive employment or meaningful community activities. Maintain professional teamwork with staff, families, college personnel & community. Develop goals based on person-centered planning and maintain a positive learning environment. Program Standard: Maintain an environment that supports personal development. Complete assigned responsibilities, shift overlaps, documentation, filing, office maintenance and other reports. Identify and develop new services and opportunities. Complete monthly summaries. Become familiar with business policies and standards. Work independently, problem solve, and anticipate issues. Teach job tasks, adapt teaching to learning styles, and train individuals to perform tasks to business quality specs. Manage multiple programs and funding sources in a day. Develop natural supports. Physical Plant and Safety: Ensure a safe, clean site; follow fire evacuation plans; observe infection control practices. Ensure site vehicles are maintained as applicable. Contacts with Others: Develop positive relationships with families, local businesses, service providers, and community resources. Ensure communications reflect the agency mission, respect privacy and confidentiality, and address customer concerns promptly. Additional Functions Participate in agency committees, initiatives, projects and trainings. Assist with coverage in the agency as assigned. Maintain certifications and trainings as required. May be required to use a private vehicle to transport individuals. Flexible with work locations and hours, including residential settings as needed. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Conscientious, dedicated, self-disciplined with a sense of responsibility. Able to work independently or with supervision, take initiative, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment. Able to establish effective relationships and work in a team. Able to handle confidential information. Basic Microsoft Office skills and introductory computer skills. Strong written and verbal communication. Comfortable operating office and medical equipment. May need to operate wheelchair vans. Willing to work flexible hours, including overtime, nights, and weekends. May be contacted outside of working hours as needed. Qualifications High school diploma, GED or TASC. Two years’ experience working with people with developmental disabilities preferred. Varied work history in competitive employment. Alignment with the agency\'s mission, vision and code of ethics. Demonstrate respectfulness, professionalism, teamwork and empathy. Knowledge of employer expectations and local job market. CPR/First Aid/AED; SCIP Certification within the first six months. Complete 24 hours of Innovations in Employment Support Training within the first year and 6 hours annually thereafter. Complete Tier 1 or Tier 2 training from the New York Consortium of Advancement in Supported Employment within the first year, plus 6 hours of continuing education each year. Additional Qualifications/Requirements Where position requires driving: Valid driver\'s license; acceptable safe driving record. Where position requires driving individuals served by the Agency: Motor vehicle with up-to-date inspection, registered and insured; enroll in LENS (Licensed Event Notification System). Authority And Accountability People: No direct authority or supervision. Operations: Reports to the Associate Director of Vocational Services; prepares individuals for paid employment or meaningful community activities, following standard policy and procedures.
