The Department Assistant provides a variety of routine and complex clerical, administrative and technical work in the administration of court matters. Duties: Coordinates all office operations pertaining to District Court matters. Develops and maintains office forms and procedures and assist with administrative tasks involving all court matters, etc. Prepares court documents that would be required for District Court. Receives the public and answers questions; respond to inquiries from citizens, etc., and refer, when necessary to appropriate persons. Composes, types and edits correspondence, reports, memoranda and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness. Qualifications

High School Diploma; Associate’s Degree in Business or Secretarial Science isdesired. Extensive knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and secretarial skills that are pertinent to secretarial and clerical support work. Comprehensive knowledge of business English and Spelling and experience in composing correspondence is also required. Ability to communicate with and work with other staff members and the general public. Must have experience in the use of personal computer and Microsoft Software. Ability to undertake and complete administrative projects independently and work under pressure with limited supervision. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for minimum qualifications. Must pass background check and drug testing.
