School Social Worker - Various Locations (Temporary)
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of School Social Worker.

Qualifications Candidates must be New York State certified in Social Work. They must attach a PDF or a screenshot of their certifications. Preference is given to those who hold a Licensed Clinical Social Work Certification (LCSW). A minimum of two (2) years of social work experience, with at least one (1) year experience working with an alternative education or community/school collaboration is preferable. Candidates should have experience in providing clinical support and demonstrating ability in a wide range of therapeutic modalities.
Duties Duties include, but are not limited to, establishing an environment to enhance individual growth and promote a positive self‑image; processing and facilitating ongoing services for students with disabilities and their families; social skill development, and educational opportunities and acting as a key member of an interdisciplinary team consisting of instructional personnel, psychologists, counselors, and other team members as required. The social worker will schedule and conduct home visitation conferences, obtain consents for students referred to the CSE, and gather comprehensive social histories for students. The social worker will administer adaptive behavior and parental checklist measures, secure outside data needed to prepare for CSE meetings, and perform classroom observations when needed. The social worker will work individually or in groups with students in need of support services and counseling, offer strategies and support to parents, serve as a consultant to teachers, implement PBS, and perform any assigned duties as deemed necessary and appropriate.
Appointment Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews will be scheduled where appropriate.
