Staffing Assistant – Behavioral Health – Carrier Clinic – P/T with Benefits Days
Hackensack Meridian Health invites applicants for a part‑time Staffing Assistant position at Carrier Clinic, a trusted behavioral health provider. This role supports scheduling, staffing coordination, licensure and record‑keeping for inpatient psychiatric and rehabilitation programs.
Responsibilities
Schedule staff to work utilizing approved staffing guidelines and patient acuity.
Replace staff who take benefit time (sick, absent, vacation, personal days) based on daily identified need.
Maintain monthly staffing schedules for inpatient programs including Nursing, Social Work, and ACS staff using scheduling software.
Maintain daily staffing schedules ensuring accuracy, skill mix and appropriate coverage; discuss staffing daily with Nursing Supervisors and Unit Directors.
Develop vacation and holiday schedules for all staff on all shifts for each unit.
Maintain Timekeeper system for Nursing Administration, Floats, Per Diem and On‑Call employees.
Maintain licensure records for RN, LPN, Social Workers, and other clinical staff; ensure licenses are current.
Orient new nursing staff employees to payroll and staffing procedures.
Maintain records of certifications (CPR/AED/First Aid/ANA).
Assist nursing supervisors to ensure that all Float, Per Diem, and On‑Call staff attend mandatory in‑services.
Process requests for seminar attendance and maintain a log of seminars and cost.
Perform clerical duties as assigned.
Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
Schedule agency personnel as needed; process agency invoices.
Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required)
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Meet or exceed expectations of patients and hospital staff members.
Maintain standards of confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office or Google Suite).
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service setting.
Minimum of 2 years of staffing/scheduling experience in a healthcare setting.
Compensation and Benefits Base hourly rate commences at $20.32/hour. Compensation is benchmarked against market data and may vary by experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
