Essential Functions
Direct interfaces with supplier organizations at all levels of management to secure the supply chain of the FedEx airline.
Monitor and manage supplier performance to contractual and committed terms and ensure FedEx complies with contractual obligations.
Lead cross‑functional teams comprised of Q.A./Airworthiness, Maintenance, Materiel, Engineering, Reliability to drive optimal performance of suppliers, collect and analyze supplier performance data, guide supplier improvement plans and oversee implementation.
Provide insights to management on risks and opportunities in the MRO and product purchase markets and input into supplier selection decisions.
Lead business reviews with suppliers to achieve optimum results in suppliers’ performance, support appropriate inventory levels, identify and drive cost reduction/avoidance initiatives, maximize capture of commercial/industry remedies, and develop deep relationships with suppliers for mutual benefit.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a quantitative discipline (e.g., finance, accounting).
Minimum Experience
Seven (7) years of professional, exempt experience that includes contract and supplier management, strategic sourcing, and negotiation.
Experience in economic, financial, or statistical analysis for sourcing or commodity management.
Experience with cross‑functional project or program management emphasizing process and service improvement or market/competitive analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Advanced experience in complex negotiations, commodity strategies, and working knowledge of strategic sourcing methods.
Applied understanding of financial and business analysis; able to integrate market information into business cases and decision‑making.
Proficiency with business software: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project), SharePoint, SAS, and Microsoft Power BI (or similar analytics tools).
Proven competence in project management and leadership; business process re‑engineering.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills for supplier and cross‑functional engagement; knowledge of market dynamics and competitive climate affecting aircraft components, MRO services, and airline‑related commodities.
Able to engage and present comfortably in varying environments, including internal O&D leadership and supplier executive leadership.
