Req#: 3923705 Social Work Specialist I-V provides professional social work services to individuals and families, helping them overcome personal, family, health, and economic problems. Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, with flexibility for evenings to meet client needs. On-call coverage is required. Benefits Offered by Outagamie County:

Assess reports for validity and legal basis, interview family members and collateral contacts. Determine service needs through interviews, home visits, investigations, and explain services and client rights. Recommends and arranges services from other resources, establishing connections with providers. Maintain case histories, complete paperwork, and ensure confidentiality per HIPAA and agency policies. Prepare court reports, conditions, testimony, and related documentation. Assist clients in developing strengths and maximizing supports. Interpret behaviors and attitudes, identify options, and support client growth. Monitor case plans, provide feedback, and follow-up. Participate in training and provide on-call services as assigned. Classification Levels and Requirements:
Social Work Specialist I: Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field. Social Work Specialist II: Bachelor’s + Wisconsin social work certification. Social Work Specialist III: Bachelor’s + certification + 3 years experience + 180 hours staff development. Social Work Specialist IV: Master’s in Social Work + certification. Social Work Specialist V: Master’s + 1 year experience + certification. Additional requirements include: Juvenile Intake Certification within 6 months if working under Chapters 48 or 938. Knowledge of social work principles, human development, psychopathology, treatment planning, AODA, and working with vulnerable populations. Ability to maintain objectivity, keep accurate records, work independently, and manage time effectively. Conflict resolution skills, computer proficiency, valid driver’s license, and ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Willingness to work extra hours and respond to emergency/disaster plans.
