Entry level Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Senior Psychologist, Correctional Facility (CF) (Supervisor) or the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, CF, conduct assessments and summarize case information to use in diagnosis, treatment (level of care), and dispositional release. Diagnose and/or collaborate in the formulation of a diagnosis. Develop, monitor, and modify treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team. Provide assessments, group therapy, and collateral conferences, and document and evaluate patients’ progress in treatment. Coordinate placement with community resources and the Classification and Parole Representative. Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. (Provisions exist for individuals who may be admitted into the examination and appointed prior to licensure with a four-year licensure deadline and related conditions.) Education: Completion of a master's degree program from an accredited school of social work, approved by the Council on Social Work Education. Unlicensed individuals recruited from outside California who qualify for licensure may be appointed for up to one year with licensure required at earliest possible date; extensions may be granted as specified by the Health and Safety Code.
