Overview
FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH PRATTVILLE STUDENT PASTOR Supervisor: Discipleship Pastor Scope: Under the leadership of the Discipleship Pastor, and in collaboration with other staff ministers, the Student Pastor will assist and support the implementation of the overall vision and strategy of FBCP. The Student Pastor will provide leadership to and have the responsibility for the overall Student Ministry of FBCP which includes seventh (7th) grade through college age students. Responsibilities
Teaching and Discipleship: Serve as the primary preacher/teacher for student events, including Sunday morning and Wednesday night activities. Deliver meaningful and doctrinally appropriate education to students using curriculum approved by the Discipleship Pastor. Design, organize, and lead age-appropriate student worship services, events, and retreats that increase biblical knowledge, foster spiritual growth, and challenge students to evangelize and serve others locally, nationally, and globally. Student Ministry: Recruit, train, and equip adult volunteers and leaders in the Student Ministry. Maintain follow-up with students and families who attend as guests or are prospects. Ensure open and accessible communication with students, parents, and others; respond to requests for interaction in a timely manner. Emphasize the role of parents and grandparents as primary disciple makers. Visit students at school events and extracurricular activities; build relationships with local schools and develop outreach strategies. Supervise Student Ministry Associate(s) and Intern(s) when applicable. Pursue continual personal development through conferences and training. Maintain doctrinal distinctives of the Baptist Faith and Message and FBCP, and collaborate with the Discipleship Pastor to create and manage a student ministry budget. Missions: Work with the Missions Pastor to create, organize, and lead mission trips locally, nationally, and globally through the Student Missions Pathway; model daily gospel-centered conversations among students. Discipleship: Create a Christ-centered, welcoming culture where students grow in their relationship with Jesus through Bible study, prayer, small groups, and individual accountability. Organize and lead age-appropriate discipleship groups through the Discipleship Pathway. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor or the Discipleship Pastor.
