Under the direction of the Maintenance Lead, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for facilitating troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, and improving process and packaging equipment to maximize production and maintain high standards in safety and quality. This role also contributes to the improvement of maintenance procedures and manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Observe all safety, sanitation, GMP and HACCP requirements
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment
Demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities on control systems, pumps, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on complex process and packaging equipment
Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks as necessary, with emphasis on advanced technical expertise when required
Assist in day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups, and changeovers
Participate in mandatory training sessions
Keep the area, tools and equipment clean and in good order
Review documentation for maintenance activity using the maintenance database and communicate maintenance issues to appropriate personnel; utilize the maintenance inventory system
About You
Minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing experience, required
Food manufacturing experience, preferred
Vocational school, industrial maintenance degree, technical college training, or formal apprenticeship, preferred
Ability to read and understand manuals, line diagrams and schematics, required
Ability to analyze situations and make technical decisions based on specifications, required
High degree of precision with minimum tolerances, required
Strong attention to safety to prevent injury when handling electrical power
Capable of working with voltages up to 480
Good organizational skills, math, written and oral communication, detail-oriented, interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Ability to work in areas with temperatures of 100F-120F
