NGM - Greenfield Talent Program at Barrick Gold Investments
We are excited to announce the expansion of our Greenfield Talent Program (GTP). As a participant you will transition from an academic environment to a professional workplace over the first 18‑months of your career.
The program begins with two months of comprehensive safety training at our Training Mine; followed by one to two months of engineering exposure, approximately 12 months of hands‑on frontline operations experience, and an additional one to two months of exposure to other business areas that balance your understanding of the mining industry.
Responsibilities
Develop and communicate engineering plans, sequences, dumping priorities, etc. to operations and other stakeholders on site and ensure plans are carried out safely and efficiently
Assist in end‑of‑month reporting for leach pad deliveries and other required regulatory reporting
Work closely with the mine operations team to execute designs and plans safely and efficiently
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering or related degree required
Zero (0) to One (1) years’ experience; Open Pit mining preferred
Experience using Vulcan, Qpit, AutoCAD, Xeras, Deswik, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership required
Team leadership, problem solving, and excellent verbal and written communication skills required
Ability to work outside in varied weather conditions for extended periods of time required
Ability to cross‑train within the mining engineering group required
Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
