Reeves Construction Company (a Colas USA subsidiary) is seeking a Bridge Foreman based in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on safety excellence and manages a crew of foreman, carpenters, finishers, and laborers on bridge and heavy‑highway projects throughout the Southeast.

Foreman Primary Work Function A skilled foreman who manages a crew to safely perform construction tasks and leads construction crew on projects.

Main Responsibilities

Basic carpentry related to building and bracing wooden forms and falsework.

Drive pile – positioning piles off the ground and climbing ladders up to 60 ft.

Steel and concrete girder erection – assembling and guiding girders into final position.

Explain steps, provide clear directions and answer questions while organizing subordinates.

Train subordinates on tasks being performed.

Supervise crew within company safety policies.

Perform timesheet calculations, quantity takeoffs, and read bill of quantities.

Read and check grades, identify schedule conflicts, and communicate with supervisor.

Read blueprints and assist supervisor with work‑plan formulation.

Train a replacement and handle crew conflict.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

Read plans and perform simple layout with minimal supervision.

Plan and schedule daily/weekly crew work.

Perform technical skills in steel erection, form/construct overhangs, substructure concrete, and pile driving.

Understand cost control basics, equipment operations, and project requirements.

Manage the work plan and crew of 5‑6 employees with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years in bridge/heavy highway construction as lead/lead carpenter/foreman.

Leadership experience managing crews and subcontractors.

Effective communication with crew members, project management, subcontractors, and vendors.

Ability to read and understand work plans.

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Demands The position requires frequent use of hands, arms, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and walking; lifting and manipulating objects up to 80 lbs at heights up to 50 ft; and meeting vision and hearing requirements (20/40 vision with or without correction, excellent hearing).
