Primary Purpose:
Responsible for developing and managing cooperative contracts awarded for the Choice Partners (CP) program.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, public administration, engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
Professional certification in purchasing preferred or working toward, such as:
Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB)
Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to effectively utilize computers and software including Microsoft Office Suite and other required software by the division
Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) using proper English grammar
Ability to speak in public preferred
Experience:
Five years public or private sector purchasing experience
Experience with City or County Procurement
Background in construction, engineering, materials, furnishings, finishes, HVAC, and/or building envelopes preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Research and write RFP/CSPs.
Act as a point of contact for CP with vendors and members as necessary.
Make or assist with public presentations at CP trainings, seminars, tradeshows, and conferences.
Conduct detailed interviews of potential vendors and industry leaders, including end users (members), to ascertain state‑of‑the‑art product standards and best methods.
Hold post‑award orientation meetings for CP‑awarded vendors to establish lines of communication.
Work with vendors to develop marketing plans.
Coordinate vendor performance monitoring with CP Client Services Manager.
Coordinate timely renewal of annual contracts with CP Contracts Coordinator.
Resolve complex contracting issues with other contract staff.
Maintain confidential information and uphold public relations with all parties.
Learn and become proficient in division software, updating the database with program, member, and vendor information.
Develop specifications for new contracts and scope of work used in solicitation documents.
Assist with public bid openings.
Assist with duties assigned to other CP staff as directed by the Director or Assistant Director.
Maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance that exemplifies confidence and professionalism.
Perform other duties as assigned.
