Overview
Join the City of Plano as a
Park Compliance Coordinator . The role keeps parks and waterways beautiful and sustainable, conducting construction stormwater inspections, educating residents about park ordinances, and partnering with homeowner associations on landscape and irrigation agreements.
Responsibilities
Conduct weekly construction site inspections to ensure compliance with stormwater pollution prevention plans.
Generate construction stormwater program notices, site postings, and coordinate with contractors to meet permit requirements.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement the Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Program and meet compliance requirements.
Interface with neighborhood and homeowner associations to identify, negotiate, approve, and monitor beautification and development projects in parks and rights of way.
Identify and improve areas of creek erosion, evaluating drainage, erosion control, streambank stabilization, silt removal, pond restoration, and recommend budget improvements.
Prepare inspection reports, enforce noncompliance, and maintain inspection records.
Manage and coordinate professional services and construction contracts for erosion control and creek bank stabilization projects.
Serve as project manager for drainage, erosion control, streambank stabilization, silt removal and pond restoration projects.
Review plans and coordinate plan reviews to ensure compliance with applicable ordinances.
Provide consistent documentation of substandard work performed by private groups.
Attend department, public, boards and commissions and City Council meetings as necessary.
Research and prepare grant applications and manage grant funding.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Environmental or Applied Sciences or related field.
Two (2) years of experience in environmental and code compliance, planning and construction, particularly with drainage, erosion control, streambank stabilization, silt removal and pond restoration.
Texas Class C driver’s license (must obtain within 30 days of hire). Certified Erosion, Sediment and Stormwater Inspector (CESSWI) preferred.
Strong communication skills, public interaction, accurate records and reports, reading plans and blueprints, preparing landscape and architectural construction plans and documents, managing contracts and agreements.
Must pass drug test, driver license check, criminal background check and social security verification.
