Working at the Fort Bragg Central Issue Facility (CIF), the Warehouse Specialist with Commercial Driver’s License (WHS w/CDL) will perform a variety of warehousing duties, including verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receiving, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials, and removing material from storage and preparing it for shipping. In addition, the WHS w/CDL will operate commercial trucks to transport loading and unloading CIF equipment as required.
Responsibilities
Verifies material and merchandise against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages.
Routes material and equipment to prescribed storage locations.
Properly stores, stacks or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed methods.
Rearranges as necessary and takes inventory of stored materials, examining and reporting deterioration and damage.
Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
Establishes and maintains stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting, and supply reports.
Assists in taking inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.
Operates and maintains forklifts and MHE related equipment.
May operate hand or power tools in the performance of warehousing duties.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.
Working Environment
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as protective mask, safety vest, steel or composite shoes/boots, safety gloves, hard hat and eyewear in certain areas.
Work will typically be in a temperature‑controlled environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment. There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
Physical Activities
Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.
Medium work. Exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects.
Must be able to stand and walk within work sites 6–8 hours a day in performance of duties.
Must be able to push, pull, carry, stoop, bend, squat and reach.
The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Real ID Class “A” Driver’s License (CDL) with current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
Must be able to pass the standard background check.
Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
Experience
Four (4) years or more experience in warehouse operations.
Four (4) years or more experience in driving and operating forklifts.
Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
Ability to work independently or in a team‑based, highly collaborative environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact at all levels.
Other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
