RN Shift Manager Neuro Stepdown Full Time Days Welcome to Doctors Medical Center Modesto. Position summary and responsibilities include coordinating services of staff to patients during the designated shift, ensuring patient care is appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients served, and assessing unit staff needs in collaboration with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to ensure patient needs are met. Responsibilities
Report to the Patient Care Services Director and utilize the nursing process and leadership skills to coordinate staff and patient care during the shift. Ensure patient care aligns with age and developmental needs. Assess staff needs for the unit and collaborate with the staffing coordinator, Nurse Director, and Administrative Nursing Supervisor to meet patient needs. Minimum Experience/Skills
Three to five years acute care experience or equivalent. RN skills as described for the designated unit. Managerial communications preferred. Licenses/Certifications
California Registered Nursing license BLS certification ACLS certification TCAR required within 12 months of hire/transfer For current employees/transfers who have TNCC, TCAR must be obtained by October 1, 2019 Must obtain NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) education module within 6 months of hire or transfer into unit and maintain thereafter Physical Demands
Frequent standing/walking Lift/position up to 50 lbs Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching Manual dexterity and mobility Ability to move quickly Vision Requirements
Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, adjust vision to bring objects into focus and distinguish colors. Working Conditions
Regularly exposed to risk of contagious and blood borne diseases Subject to varying and unpredictable situations Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness) Emergency and crisis situations Subject to irregular hours Increased stress due to multiple calls and inquiries Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances, and bio-hazardous material Tenet complies with laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
